The Best of The Human League is the title of a compilation album first issued in 1997 and again in early 2005 with the same tracklisting but with revised artwork.
This was the second Human League compilation to feature selected album tracks as well as hit singles, coming just one year after Soundtrack to a Generation.
As opposed to the previous compilation, The Best of The Human League concentrates more on hit singles from the early 80s period. The earliest track featured is 'The Sound of the Crowd' (April 1981).

- The cover artwork features just the three group members in red and white portraits. Original photograph possibly from the mid-nineties Greatest Hits photo session. CD title is stylised to 'the best of THE HUMAN LEAGUE'.
- This was issued as a 'copy protected' CD, as was in vogue at the time. A subsequent regular non Copy Controlled version was released in late 2005.
